MEP Colm Markey: Upgraded Volunteering Programme Will Give Young Irish People Invaluable Experience Abroad
The European Parliament has given the green light to the new seven-year European Solidarity Corps programme
Anyone aged between 18 and 30 can apply to volunteer for between two and twelve months in any EU country, as well as in Iceland, North Macedonia, Turkey and Liechtenstein.
MEP Colm Markey says it's a great opportunity:
"For people from the age of 17 to 30, they can travel to other countries as a volunteer. They can get valuable work experience as part of it, but also they can be involved in projects in areas like education, health, environment, things like working with children or the elderly, working with migrants."
