Michael D Higgins Has Asked The Taoiseach For A Delay To His Inauguration Next Weekend
The ceremony on Sunday the 11th of November coincides with the centenary of the Armistice
This signaled the end of the first World War.
In a statement, the President says he's conscious of the desire of many Irish people to participate in morning commemoration ceremonies.
He's requested that the government change normal procedure and hold the inauguration in the evening.
