Micheál Ryan Shortlisted For The Irish Red Cross Humanitarian Of The Year award 

Micheál lived with his wife and two daughters in the city and died when an Ethiopian Airlines 737 Max plane crashed shortly after take-off in March last year. 

39 year old Micheál worked for the UN's World Food Programme and was posthumously appointed chief engineer of the programme. 

A road in Bangladesh was also named 'Ryan Road' in his honour. 

The winner of the Humanitarian of the Year Award will be announced on the 15th of December.
