Mick Wallace takes third seat in Ireland South

Independents4Change candidate Mick Wallace has been elected as an MEP for Ireland South in the past half an hour.
Counting resumed this morning after Sinn Féin withdrew their request for a full recount last evening.
The distribution of Líadh Ní Ríada's transfers this morning were enough to get Mick Wallace over the line on the 19th count.
He exceeded the quota by 19,674 votes, his surplus is now being distributed and will determine who gets that all important fourth seat.
Both Fine Gael's Deirdre Clune and Grace O'Sullivan of the Green Party are in contention for the fourth seat with just 4,202 votes separating the two.
Both candidates are hoping to avoid the fifth so-called 'cold storage' seat which won't become operational until after Brexit.
