Midleton Flood System To Be Introduced

Midleton is working on the establishment of an early warning flood system similar to the one in operation in Bandon.
A flood relief project for the East Cork town is being drawn up however it could take up to two years before any work on the project gets underway...
In the meantime it's hoped that an early warning system could be put in place so that the town and it's residents won't have a repeat performance of last December's floods..
At that time 30 families had to be evacuated from their homes and many businesses were left under water after the flooding deluge...
President of Midleton and Area Chamber of Commerce Seamus Cunningham told RedFM News that residents need to be confident ahead of any future flooding
