Minimum pricing hoped to reduce alcohol abuse

A new campaign to 'Stop out-of-control drinking' is hosting two workshops in the city this evening in a bid to stimulate debate and highlight the dangers of alcohol abuse. According to a recent study the introduction of a minimum price of €1 per unit on sales of alcohol would result in almost 200 fewer alcohol-related deaths per year in Ireland. Speaking to RedFM News Fergus Finlay of the "stop out-of-control" drinking campaign says limiting access to alcohol should help curb alcohol abuse. Click the PLAY button above to hear.
