Minister: Government Did Not Misled Public Over Need For Border Checks If UK Crashes Out Of EU
The European Commission said checks at the border would be necessary to preserve the interests of the European Union.
Jean-Claude Juncker added that the UK - not the EU - would be to blame if border checks had to be carried out.
