Monument Commemorating Those Who Died In The Tuskar Rock Air Disaster Unveiled In Ballyphehane 

The monument unveiled at the Church of the Assumption lists the names of all 61 passengers and crew who died when the Cork to London flight crashed into the sea off the coast of Wexford in March 1968. 

Curate of the church Fr Eddie Hegarty died alongside several passengers from Cork City and County, as well as 22 year old first Officer Paul Heffernan from Ballintemple.

No cause for the crash was ever found.
