More Than 1 Person A Week From The Construction And Farming Sector Is Dying From Skin Cancer
60 people died in Ireland due to sun exposure at work in 2016
The Irish Cancer Society says the dangers of skin cancers in industries such as farming and construction are often neglected because the risk of accidental death or injury on the job is considered higher
This year the Society has now teamed up with the Irish Congress of Trade Unions to urge outdoor workers to be extra vigilant during the summer months and reduce their risk of skin cancer
Speaking to RedFM News Donal Buggy of the Irish Cancer Society says 12,000 people are diagnosed with skin cancer in Ireland every year with more men than women being diagnosed.
