More Than 800 People Are Expected To Quit The Defence Forces This Year
This would make it one of the highest numbers to leave ever
The Department of Defence confirmed that, so far, 407 people have left the organisation in the first half of the year.
289 people left from the army, 74 from the naval service and 44 from the air corps.
A recently published report of the Public Service Pay Commission highlighted the challenges faced in retaining defence personnel.
Colonel Derek Priestly, Deputy General Secretary of Raco says that figure is likely to rise further by the end of the year.
