Mortgage Holders In Ireland Pay Up To €80,000 More During Lifetime Loan Than In Most Other EU Countries

Figures released by Brokers Ireland are based on a 300 thousand euro mortgage over 30 years

The Irish Independent says the average interest rate on new mortgages in July was nearly 3 percent compared to 1.5 percent in euro areas.

Ireland's rates are second highest behind Greece.
