Mother and Baby Home Survivor Disappointed That Details From Mother And Baby Homes Report Were Leaked

Survivors were supposed to be given the report by the Government tomorrow, but it was leaked in the Sunday Independent.

It reveals Mothers were 'taunted' during birth and 9,000 children died in the 18 institutions investigated.

County Homes survivor Francis Timmons says his sister died in one of the homes:

"This is 18 institutions that were investigated. 56,000 women, 57,000 children, and 9,000 deaths. One in seven children died, I have a sister in St Pat's that died as well. So she was one of one of those that was born in St Pat's in the Navan road. And so, not overly shocked as such but it's just horrendous I suppose."
