MSD to pump millions into Brinny plant
Pharmaceutical giant MSD is to pump 6.5 million euro into green technology at it's plant in Brinny. A €3.5 million euro environment utilities building was opened at the site yesterday which will reduce the firms water consumption by a massive 30 million litres a year. It will also allow for increased production and make the site more efficient - which is expected to lead to the creation of jobs. MSD is to spend a further 3 million euro in the coming months on the construction of a combined heat and power plant which will generate about 30% of the site’s electricity needs.
