Multi million euro planned Convention Centre on course for Cork.

The multi million euro planned Convention Centre for Cork is on course...
That's according to the City Council which is currently locked in contract talks with BAM Contractors in relation to the development on the former Beamish and Crawford site...
The EU approved €20 million of public money for the project and there are strict rules surrounding state aid and as a result the Council are currently drawing up a legal agreement with BAM to ensure that taxpayers monies are safeguarded and that the project is delivered..
It's hoped that this agreement will be signed in the next few months to allow construction work begin next year..
Speaking to RedFM News the City's head of planning Pat Ledwidge says although progress appears to be slow the project is on track.
