Murder investigation launched into the death of a woman in the city

The body of the woman was found at her home in Montenotte this morning.
Gardaí have launched a murder investigation into the death of a woman on the North side of the city this morning.
The 60-year-old was found with stab wounds at her home on Murmont Avenue at around 8 o'clock this morning.
Her body was removed to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination was carried out.
She has been named locally as Marian Horgan and her husband named locally as Billy Horgan was also injured in the incident.
He was taken to Mercy University Hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
A 25-year-old was arrested this morning in relation to the incident and is being questioned at Mayfield Garda Station.
Speaking to RedFM News these locals say they're very surprised something like this has happened in such a quiet area.
