National Women's Council Of Ireland Reacts To Divorce Referendum Landslide

The country voted 82% 'Yes' to 18% 'No'
The National Women's Council of Ireland says the landslide result in the Divorce Referendum proves its time for further constitutional reform.
The country voted 82 percent Yes to 18 percent No - to reduce the waiting time for a divorce from 4 to 2 years - and to recognise foreign divorces.
Director Orla O'Connor says a shorter divorce process is important for women in situations of domestic abuse.
But she also sees it as a sign that modern Ireland is hungry for change:
