Nearly 64,000 People Are Waiting For Treatment In Cork Hospitals
That number is being highlighted as part of a campaign by the Irish Hospital Consultants Association
In June the Association launched the Care Can't Wait Campaign to voice their concerns of the impact those waiting lists have on patient care and service delivery.
Ahead of the upcoming byelection in Cork North Central at the end of the month, the campaign is being stepped up with ads placed in in local newspaper and on bus shelters to run alongside the existing social media campaign
The IHCA's Martin Varley told RedFM News that as consultants they feel compelled to advocate for their patients and support their right to timely access to care and improved hospital services.
