New Angling Ban In Place Following The Death Of Hundreds Of Carp At The Lough

The ban has been introduced on two sections of the river Lee.
Last week the agency began an investigation following reports that fish at the Lough were sick and dying.
IFI says over 500 carp have been found dead and expect the entire population will die in the coming days.
There are also fears the privately owned Belvelly Carp fishery near Cobh has been contaminated by the outbreak.
The new restrictions on fishing the River Lee at Inniscarra and Carrigadrohid have been put in place to reduce the spread of the disease
Speaking to RedFM News, Sean Long from Inland Fisheries Ireland says the angling ban is a precautionary measure:
