New extended pay parking times in city to be introduced next week
Residents and business owners in the city have hit out at new extended pay parking times.
The new arrangements will see Cork's on street parking duration reduced from two hours to one, and pay parking times extended by two hours to 8.30pm.
The new regime will begin next Tuesday, and will encompass Grenville Place, Liberty Street and Gratten Street as well as parking spaces near the Mercy University Hospital.
Some businesses have criticised the measure saying it does not encourage people to come into the city centre, when parking is available free at suburban shopping centres.
