New Strategy To Tackle Suicide Launched At City Hall

It's hoped suicide rates in Cork will be reduced by 10% over the next four years.

A new strategy was launched in City Hall this morning in a bid to tackle the rate of suicide in Cork which was twice the national average in 2016.

Connecting for Life Cork contains 72 actions and is a collaboration of an indepth consultation with the public, community and voluntary organisations, public bodies and health care professionals.

When asked if the 10% target was adequate the HSE's head of Mental Health Services for Cork and Kerry Sinead Glennon told RedFM News that they're hoping to exceed that:
