No Foul Play In Former Garda's Death In West Cork Over The Weekend
The man's body was found lying by the roadside near Glandore early Saturday morning
Gardai have ruled out foul play in the death of a former Garda whose body was found lying by the roadside near a village in West Cork over the weekend.
A post mortem at Cork University Hospital yesterday revealed that the 57 year old man suffered serious head injuries in an accidental fall about 150 yards from Glandore village where he had been socialising on Friday night.
The body of the man was discovered at half 1 on Saturday morning by a passing motorist who raised the alarm
The emergency services were alerted but the man was pronounced dead at the scene
Gardai have taken statements from people who met the man socializing in Glandore earlier in the night and they will now include the post mortem results on the man's death for an inquest at West Cork Coroners Court.
