No wage hikes despite rising Cork rents

The jobs minister's ruling out any pay hikes - despite rents rising. A new report from 'daft dot ie' shows renting a home in Cork city now averages nearly 850 euro - that's a 6% jump on last year's figures, while in the county rents have climbed by 3% and the average now stands at nearly 630 euro. The figures show that compared to their lowest points in 2010, rents in Cork city are now over 8% higher But despite the rising costs, Minister Richard Bruton says there isn't a case for people to be demanding pay increases: Press PLAY button above to listen to the audio
