North Cork publicans keeping Good Friday Traditions alive

Six pubs in Newmarket have united in closing their doors despite the Government lifting the ban on pubs serving alcohol on Good Friday.

The Publicans say they only get two days off a year on Christmas Day and Good Friday, and are in favour of keeping their holidiay.

According to a report in the Irish Examiner the move has been well received by customers in the town.
