North Main Street Traders Say Events Centre Is Crucial For The Street's Recovery
Completion of the Event's Centre is key to the recovery of Cork's North Main Street.
That's according to the North Main Street Traders Group who say it is vital that the stalled events centre project is completed in order to rejuvinate the historic part of the city.
Last year the closure of Dunnes Stores sparked fears it could sound the death knell for the street, as several other businesses followed suit.
However traders say they have seen green shoots of recovery on the street over the past 12 months, and the completion of the 6,000 seat development will allow for continued recovery in the area.
Speaking to RedFM News Mick Murphy Vice Chariman of the North Main Stree Traders Group says they are 100% behind the events centre project:
