Numbers of Heroin users increase in Cork.

Alcohol, cannabis, benzo - diazepines and heroin have been identified as the main drugs people in Cork are abusing.
Figures from earlier this year show the number of heroin users has risen from 20 to 500 over the past decade in the city with only around 300 of the estimated addicts receiving treatment for the addiction.
The HSE say that 1,600 people in Cork and Kerry seek help every year for alcohol addiction and have described it as a 'gateway drug'.
The Cork Local Drugs and Alcohol Taskforce says they are the four main areas they are working on but speaking to RedFM News, their Co-ordinator Joe Kirby says funding is proving an problem when it comes to tackling the issue:
