Numbers on trolleys at CUH highest in the country
The figures come from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
Cork University Hospital has the highest number of patients on hospital trolleys at Emergency Departments nationwide today.
That's according to the latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation which show there are 38 patients on hospital trolleys at CUH.
Last week, the INMO called for ambulances to be diverted to other hospitals instead of Beaumont Hospital in Dublin due to A&E overcrowding - and the union did not rule out a similar call if the situation worsened Leeside.
Speaking to RedFM News, Industrial Relations Officer with the INMO Michael Dineen says they have serious concerns about overcrowding coming into the winter months.
