Oireachtas Justice Committee Welcoming Public Feedback Ahead Of Discussion About Image Based Sexual Abuse
The issue is due to be brought before the Dail next week
James Lawless is also due to discuss the Harmful Offences Bill with his colleagues on December 1st.
It comes after thousands of explicit images of Irish women were shared online without consent this week.
The Kildare North Deputy says it was actually scheduled for discussion before that:
'Earlier this year I spoke to the members to see if we could fast track legislation. So the Harmful Offences Bill is coming in on December 1st, which is effectively a week away. That was actually happening already before the latest issue broke. But I suppose that just gives it more magnitude and urgency in terms of passing this legislation.'
