Oldest family run retail store in the city to close

Five jobs will be lost as a result.
Hilser Bros Jewellers on the Grand Parade is to close with the loss of five jobs.
The jewellers is the oldest family run retail store in Cork and last year celebrated their 155th anniversary.
The owner of the store told Cork's RedFM that the reason behind the closure is that the building is unsuitable for their current needs as it is over three floors and only the ground floor is in use.
Hilsers operate a second store in Bandon and that will continue to trade as normal.
Miriam Hilser-Foley told Cork's RedFM that it is a very emotional day in the store and they will close their doors for the final time on the 26th of March next.
