Operation To Remove Trapped Cars At Douglas Village Shopping Centre Underway

Around 60 cars were damaged in the fire on Saturday night
The operation to remove cars trapped in Douglas Village Shopping centre following the fire at the weekend has begun
Earlier a crane arrived at the shopping centre which is being used to lift and remove the 200 vehicles following Saturday night's fire
Around 60 cars were damaged in the fire, while 130 remain trapped on the upper floors of the shopping centre.
The removal operation which has seen up to 10 cars removed from the centre so far is expected to take up to a week
The vehicles are being removed from the area by tow truck and taken to a compound to be assessed by nn insurance firm before they can be handed over to their owners
Insurance firms FBD, AXA and AVIVA say they will provide free car hire for all customers who may have been affected by the fire until their car has been removed from the car park
