OPW announce relocation scheme for those hit by floods

Details have been announced about the scheme to fund the relocation of people whose homes were badly flooded during the winter of 2015-2016.
It will cover people whose main or family home flooded between the 4th of December 2015 and the 13th of January 2016 to an extent that left it uninhabitable.
Those whose home is at significant risk of damage from flooding again and cannot be protected through any future planned or possible protection measures may also be eligible.
Homes in turlough areas that flooded after these dates will also be considered under the initiative.
Minister of State for the OPW and Flood Relief Seán Canney says homeowners affected will be contacted in the coming weeks.
