Organisers of tomorrow's Rally for Truth in the city refuse Garda request to cancel the event
They have held a meeting with Garda representatives in advance of the rally and have stressed that political groups are not invited
The group say the purpose of the rally is to demand an end to lockdown which they say is damaging to our health and economy and to urge the Government be honest in regard to death levels from Covid19
Organisers behind the Rally for Truth say they do not want a repeat of the violent scenes in Dublin last weekend actions and say they will be issuing guidance on the wearing of face coverings ahead of the rally
In a statement issued to RedFM News Gardaí say the current restrictions do not allow for protests to be organised and attending such an event is not a reasonable excuse to travel outside your home
They say where they find potential breaches of the public health regulations a file is prepared for the DPP in each case or a Fixed Payment Notice is issued where appropriate.
Spokesman for tomorrow's rally Diarmaid Ó Cadhla told RedFM News that he is not concerned that tomorrow's event will be hijacked:
