Over 1,000 submissions to OWP over proposed flood relief scheme
Over 1,000 submissions have been received by the Office of Public Works over the planned flood relief scheme for the city.
The Save Cork City group mounted several protests in recent months over the €150 million project which they say will threaten business and tourism with its emphasis on raised quay walls and embankments.
Some flood-hit traders and homeowners in the city have been critical of the group and say their opposition will only result in further delays to badly needed flood defences.
The group are presenting their alternative plan for flood defences in in St Peter's on North Main Street at 5 o'clock this evening.
