Over 1,450 People Referred To Probation Service In Cork In 2019
The Service has published its annual report which shows people carried out almost 380,000 hours of community service across the country in lieu of 1,247 years in prison.
797 people were referred to the service in the City, Mallow was next with 161 and Midleton was 3rd on 155.
There were 36 referrals in Bantry and just 14 in Kinsale.
Nationally over 83% of referrals were for men, while theft, drugs and assault cases were the top reasons for referrals.
