Overcrowding at CUH remains at crisis point says INMO

Overcrowding at Cork University Hospital has been at crisis point for a very long time.

That's according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation who say that the recent overcrowding at Cork University Hospital has become the norm.

Today's trolley watch figures show that the CUH is again the most overcrowded hospital in the country, with 45 patients waiting on admission in the Emergency Department.

The INMO say their members are working under horrific conditions, and as the numbers of patients being treated on trollieys continues to pile up in the ED, there is no space for nurses to review patients needs.
