Owner of Pharmacy moves to allay fears to residents following announcement it may distribute methadone

The owner of a new pharamcy in Gurranabraher has moved to allay fears after it emerged that the business may choose to distribute methadone.

Concern has been expressed by local residents about the impact such a service could have on the area however Phelan's Pharmacy says the planned service is being confused with a methadone clinic.

The pharamacy on Baker's Road also says it has no plans for a needle exchange service. 

Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM Conor Phelan from Phelan's Pharmacy says many of the concerns are misplaced but he will take the resident's views into account when he's making a decision:
