Parents Concerns About The Lack Of Secondary School Places In Bandon Raised In The Dáil

The Echo reports that Independent TD Michael Collins told the House that promises were made three years ago

Plans for four classrooms and a teachers resource room in St Brogan's College were promised to help cope with the entry demands, however these have failed to materialise.

The situation has led to a crisis leaving schools in Bandon including Hamilton High School, unable to cater for the large volume of applications for admission to first year in September 2020.

Parents have been left with little option but to enroll their children in city based schools, which is a 45 minute commute.

Deputy Michael Collins appealed for an immediate solution to be found and the Education Minister agreed to follow up on the matter.
