Parents To Get More Of A Say In School Costs

Parents are to be given a greater say in the cost of their children's education under potential new laws being unveiled today.

Minister Richard Bruton wants schools to become more accountable to the public.

If successful, the rule change would mean they'd have to show how voluntary contributions are being spent, how they're resolving complaints and explain management policies on issues like extracurriculars.

Parents will also have the right to demand plain uniforms without crests.
