PBP TD says current legislation on medicinal cannabis making criminals out of ordinary people

Current legislation on medicinal cannabis is forcing Irish people to travel abroad in an effort to obtain THC based products.
That's according to People Before Profit TD Gino Kenny who along with MEP Luke "Ming" Flannagan, travelled to Barcelona with Cork Mother Vera Twomey to collect a prescription for cannabis oil on Friday.
The cannabis oil was confiscated by customs officials at Dublin Airport after Vera declared the substance, and all three were arrested but later released without charge.
Vera has been campaigning on behalf of her daughter Ava, who needs THC to control seizures she suffers because of a rare form of epilepsy.
Ava's application to the cannabis access programme was denied by the Department of Health on the grounds that a paediatric neurologist could not sign off on the treatment.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville show on Cork's RedFM PBP TD Gino Kenny says the Government is making criminals out of ordinary people by not making the product freely available here:
