PDForra Insist Haulbowline Must Be The First Location for Operation Pontus Medal Ceremony
It's been announced that the inaugural ceremony will be held in Rosslare
PDForra says the first medal ceremony for naval personnel who took part in Mediterranean humanitarian missions should be held in Cork, and the Haulbowline base should not be the location for a follow up parade.
The group which represents the Defence Forces was reacting to the news that follow up ceremonies will be held in Cork and across the country after the first presentation in Rosslare.
It's the latest development in the row which was sparked by Junior Minister Paul Kehoe last week when he announced that the ceremony woul be held in his Wexford constituency.
PDForra is insisting that the first ceremony should be held in Haulbowline where four missions have departed from over the past 16 months which would allow the families of the naval personnel involved to be included..
Speaking to RedFM News Mark Keane of PDForra says he's disappointed that their concerns haven't been taken on board
