People Are Being Asked To Prepare For The Morning After When Planning To Ring In The New Year This Evening
Gardaí at Anglesea Street say they will be mounting a number of checkpoints across the City Centre
They are reminding drivers that 12% of all drink driving offences are detected between 8am and 2pm.
New drink driving laws came into force last year.
Drivers with a blood alcohol level of between 50 miligrams and 80 miligrams are now automatically disqualified from driving for three months and fined €200.
Speaking to RedFM News, Sergeant Peter Murphy from Angelsea Street Garda Station says people need to plan ahead as they kick off 2020:
