People In The City And County Are Being Asked To Consider If They Could Have Hepatitis C
Up to 30,000 people are living with the disease in Ireland, however many others are not aware they have it.
The Hepatitis C Partnership are encouraging people who think they may have the disease to get tested on today World Hepatitis Day, as many people develop cirrhosis of the liver and may need a transplant.
Those at risk include people who have shared equipment to inject or snort drugs as well as those who have had tattoos and piercings in unlicensed settings.
Speaking to RedFM News, Pharmacist and former TD Kate O'Connell outlines some commons symptoms of the illness:
