Peter Aiken Says He Will Wade In If The Floodlight Row Puts Ed Sheeran's Cork Gigs At Risk

A row erupted between the GAA and City Hall over public lighting upgrades around Páirc Uí Chaoimh

The promoter behind Ed Sheeran's sold out concerts in Cork says he will step in if there's a risk to the gigs over issues surrounding floodlights at the stadium.

It emerged this week that a row has erupted between the GAA and City Hall over public lighting upgrades around Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

A €700,000 price tag was put on upgrades to public lighting around the stadium however the GAA only offered €60,000 making the case that they shouldn't be responsible for works outside the stadium itself.

The first games under lights were held at Páirc Uí Chaoimh last weekend and 13 mobile flood lights had to be installed.

Calls have now been made for an urgent resolution to the issue which it's feared could put the three Ed Sheeran May gigs at risk.

Speaking to RedFM News Peter Aiken of Aiken Promotions says he'll wade in if the concerts are in jeopardy:
