Planned flood relief scheme Leeside receives mix reviews from traders in the city centre

The Save Cork City campaign has hit out at the plans and says it will affect the historic fabric of the city and threaten tourism
Traders in the city centre have given mixed views about the planned flood relief scheme for the city.
Over 230 submissions have been received by the OPW on the €140 million project which includes plans to raise quay walls and build embankments.
The Save Cork City group is calling for a tidal barrier and have refuted claims that it will cost €1 billion. They say their proposal for the barrier at Great Island will cost in the region of €190 million.
These flood-hit traders on Oliver Plunkett St have given their views on the plans and the current debate.
