Plans for Cork Flood Relief Scheme finalised

Work on Cork City's long awaited flood relief scheme is expected to begin next year.
The announcement was made by Minister for State and for the Office of Pulbic Works Sean Canney as designs for the scheme were being finalised today.
The project, which will be completed on a phase by phase basis and will take at up to 5 years to complete.
The Blackpool scheme, which is separate from the overall plan, is expected to progress to the tender process later this year, with a contracter appointed in 2017.
Earlier this year works begain on the €11 million euro flood relief scheme in Bandon.
Speaking to RedFM news spokesperson for Bandon Flood Group Gillian Powell says the residents are relieved the works are underway:
