Plans for development on Port of Cork site welcomed by Lord Mayor

A 40 storey tower has been proposed for the Port of Cork site which has been sold for an estimated €5 million
The site has been purchased by US-based Kerryman Kevin O’Sullivan, who has ambitious plans for it which will see up to €100 million invested in the site.
The plans may see a landmark development, including a signature tower up to twice the height of the 17-storey Elysian for hotel and office use.
Tourist, cultural and heritage uses are promised for the existing buildings, which are protected structures, as well as a boardwalk running along the quayside site.
Speaking to RedFM News in the past few minutes Lord Mayor Cllr Des Cahill says he believes the planning process will start immediately and he's described the project as great news for Cork:
