Pledges flood in for a Cork girl who needs urgent treatment in London

The generosity of listeners to the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM means a 7-year-old girl can now travel to a London hospital for urgent tests.
Abby Murphy has gone through serious surgery since her birth, including moving several of her organs, after she was born with a diaphragmatic hernia.
Since these operations Abby's bowel has never worked properly and her grandmother Kathleen Weir says she now needs to undergo tests in London's Great Ormond Street hospital ahead of further remedial surgery.
The family applied under the Treatment Abroad Fund for funding for the tests, which they secured in March and were due to travel tomorrow, however they were told yesterday that as the consultant is conducting the tests privately, she does not qualify for the €10,000 in funding now.
Listeners to the radio station rallied to her cause and over €22,000 was raised in an hour to ensure the family could travel.
