The father of one of the police officers killed in a gun attack in Dallas says his son paid the 'ultimate price' for protecting the public.

Police say they've now found bomb-making material, bullet-proof vests and guns at the home of the suspected gunman, Micah Johnson.

Authorities say they now believe Micah Johnson - was working alone.

Patrick Zamarripa was shot dead along with 4 other officers at a peaceful protest in the city on Thursday night.

His father Rick is appealing for unity.
