Polish man (20s) due in court in the city this hour in relation to discovery of €1.8 million of cannabis herb

The man was arrested in Tuesday at Ringaskiddy Ferry Terminal. 

The drugs were discovered as a result of routine profiling by Revenue officers after the Roscoff ferry arrived at the Port of Cork on Tuesday. 

Officer searched a Polish registered van with the assistance of detector dog Marley and discovered 90 kilos of cannabis hidden in 37 separate packages within body panels of the van. 

The man was detained and subsequently arrested by Gardaí.

He's due to appear before Cork District this afternoon.
