Post-mortem examinations are taking place on two killed in aircraft collision in Co Offaly

The plane crash claimed the lives of a seven year old boy and a pilot.

The two died when the single engine aircraft crashed into bogland just outside Edenderry yesterday afternoon.

The Irish Parachute Club says it’s deeply saddened and its thoughts and prayers are with those affected.

The Air Accident Investigation Unit is surveying the scene to find out what happened.

Chief investigator Jurgen White explains how the area is being surveyed.
