Pressure mounting on Health Minister over ownership of the new national maternity hospital

Calls are continuing for the Health Minister to prevent the Sisters of Charity from taking ownership of the new National Maternity Hospital
Protests were mounted outside maternity hospitals across the country yesterday and over 86,000 people have signed a petition to block the Sisters of Charity from taking ownership the hospital.
The Sisters of Charity own the land in which the hospital will be built and it's feared they would have a relgious influence over medical decisions.
Speaking to RedFM News, Sinead Halpin Social Democrat for Cork North East says it needs to be independent from a religious body.
